Table Mountain is Cape Towns biggest attraction and world famous. The mountain is about 1086 metres (3,567 ft )at its highest point, and measures nearly 3 km. On a clear day you can have the spectacular view over the city and beaches. The dense white mist that often covers it is called the “tablecloth.” The panorama stretches from Table Bay to False Bay and around the mountain to the Hout Bay Valley and Kommetjie.
The famous Cable car on Table Mountain, a must for visitors. The visitors have a view of 360° at the city of Cape Town. The cable car was first opened in 1929 and today conveys some 600,000 people to the top of the mountain annually. On top of the mountain there are a restaurant and souvenir shop.
For those how want to explore the nature on their own time on Table Mountain, there is around 350 different paths visitors can climb to the top. Some paths is suitable for children and others is very difficult. We advise you to rather get a guide to climb with you that’s familiar the mountain.
On this beautiful mountain there are about 1470 species of plants, including over 250 different species of daisies!
The animals like baboons and porcupines, as well as furry rodents called Rock Dassies live freely on the mountain. Then there is a Table Mountain Ghost Frog that is exclusive to the Mountain, it cant be found no else in the world.
